As Martin Luther King, Jr. day approaches I am moved to contemplate the impact that he had on our country and world as a whole.
Martin Luther King, Jr. showed us the importance of having the courage to act on our dreams and his pearls of wisdom inspire us still today. A couple of my favorites relate to moving forward towards the change that we desire in our lives. He said:
“Faith is taking the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase.”
I think it’s important to allow ourselves to believe that we can advance towards our intended life. Our health opens the door for us to walk through into this intended life. Maybe the first step on the staircase is regaining our energy and wellness.
Martin Luther King, Jr. gave us these marching orders for moving forward…
“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
You mean to say that crawling is progress? Looking at change in this light makes it so do-able! I can feel my optimism and confidence swelling as I read that quote! The forces that Martin Luther King, Jr. was fighting against seem like giants next to my desire to merely take control of my health, which essentially comes down to personal disciplines. However, our personal freedom and health freedom is a real battle and it’s worth entering into. If you have your health, everything is possible, but if you don’t, that’s all you want.
I believe that everyone can be helped by putting an emphasis on their health. Whether you’re an elite athlete or a stressed out Netflix addict, or maybe both, a close look at your wellness plan and habits can help to bring clarity to where you want to go from here.
As a Master Health Coach, I can hold that mirror up for you to see that person in the reflection. Together, we can find a plan that fits your needs and lifestyle to bring you into alignment with your health goals.
Best of Health in 2017!
