I believe nutrition is a direct path to nourish the body and the soul. When we see food for what it can be – healing, restorative, and life-altering – true wellness can be achieved.
I am Suzy Lewis, founder of SHINEhealth, a Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach, a researcher of food science and a mom. I help you take back control of your health through practical planning, new habit formation and expanding your knowledge so you can become better connected to your body.
One of the biggest obstacles isn’t knowing what to eat and how to nourish the body; it’s finding the structure and discipline to incorporate it into daily life. I start with two assessments: a blood test and a behavioral assessment that measures external stress factors. Then, I work with individuals to ensure they are educated on the benefits of proper nutrition, what will work for their bodies and the behaviors they need to leverage to make lasting change.
My passion for nutrition first emerged as a passion for health and sciences. After earning a degree in Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder, I became a researcher studying thyroid function and cancer. After having children and experiencing health issues in my own family, I used my science-based background to begin researching more natural remedies for health and wellness.
My passion for nutrition has only grown. As the owner of SHINEhealth, my work allows me to work with individuals and corporations around the world to promote healthier lifestyles. I have worked in this field for nearly 20 years and am a Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach. I am a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and sit on the UCI Center for Healthspan Sciences Healing Protocols Advisory Board. To support busy professionals I host live cooking demonstrations that promote healthy cooking techniques and the benefits of various fresh ingredients while empowering viewers to make changes in their own kitchens.
